Description

MCM Iconic Abstract Necklace | Hallmarked Silver Modernist Pendant

Discover a striking piece of mid-century modernist silver jewellery with this sculptural abstract necklace, dating from 1964. Its distinctive design combines two elegant 1960s-inspired abstract forms to create a wonderfully unusual piece of wearable art.

The piece is fully hallmarked with the Anchor, Lion and date letter P for Birmingham 1964, together with the T.L.M mark of Thomas L. Mott. These hallmarks give the necklace an excellent provenance and make it particularly appealing to collectors of vintage British silver and mid-century jewellery.

Its elongated sculptural form measures approximately 8cm in length and 1.5cm at its widest point, creating an eye-catching silhouette when worn. The abstract design has a wonderful modernist quality, with clean lines and an almost architectural feel.

This is a particularly versatile piece because it can be worn both as a pendant and as a brooch, giving you two ways to style it. The original clasp secures properly, with only minor signs of age consistent with its vintage history. There is also a small twist in the silver close to the pendant loop, which can be seen in the photographs.
