Description
Kerttu Nurminen Iittala Droppa Glass Bowl | Blue Finnish Art Glass
This beautiful Kerttu Nurminen Iittala Droppa glass bowl is a striking example of Finnish designer art glass from the 1990s. Designed by Kerttu Nurminen for the Nuutajärvi Glass Factory, the Droppa series was produced between 1993 and 1999.
The bowl has an elegant organic form, with smooth flowing curves and a wonderfully deep blue colour. The substantial glass catches and reflects the light beautifully, giving the piece an impressive depth and luminosity when viewed from different angles.
The rich cobalt-blue colour makes this Iittala Droppa glass bowl particularly decorative. Its sculptural shape means it works equally well displayed as a standalone piece of art glass or incorporated into a collection of Finnish and Scandinavian glass.
Importantly, this example retains its original Iittala sticker and has an engraved and signed base, providing useful identifying details for collectors. It is also in excellent vintage condition.
