Description
Vintage San Marino Italian Pottery Dish – 1950s
Add a splash of mid-century Italian style to your home with this stunning vintage San Marino pottery dish. Dating to the 1950s, this eye-catching piece features a rich red glazed interior decorated with a hand-painted, stylised female portrait, framed by vibrant green foliage and intricate detailing.
The contrasting black exterior creates a dramatic finish, while three short feet elevate the dish and give it an elegant, sculptural shape. Two of the feet feature holes, suggesting the dish may have been designed to allow wall hanging, although this has not been confirmed.
Measuring approximately 8.5 inches (21.6 cm) long and 4.25 inches (10.8 cm) across, this distinctive Italian ceramic makes a wonderful decorative accent for a mid-century interior, vintage pottery collection or eclectic display.
The base is marked “Made in Italy”, “Hand Painted” and Q/31, alongside an incised number, adding to its vintage character.
Whether displayed on a shelf, sideboard or potentially mounted on a wall, this beautiful piece celebrates the bold colours and expressive designs associated with mid-century Italian decorative arts.
