Description
Vintage Volpi Deruta Style Starburst Vase | Mid-Century Italian Pottery
Bring a striking piece of mid-century Italian pottery into your home with this unusual Volpi Deruta style vase. It features a sculptural shape, a tactile white textured surface, dramatic black starburst motifs and a vibrant turquoise-blue interior.
Standing just under 11 inches tall, this vintage Italian vase makes an eye-catching decorative piece. The raised white dots create an unusual tactile finish across the body. Meanwhile, the bold black starburst designs add contrast and give the vase its distinctive mid-century character.
The vibrant turquoise interior adds another layer of colour. In addition, the flared rim and unusual sculptural form make this vase particularly striking from every angle.
The vase has the distinctive look associated with mid-century Italian ceramics and the Volpi Deruta style. However, the base is unmarked, so we describe it as attributed to the Volpi Deruta style rather than as a definitively marked Volpi Deruta piece.
It would look fabulous displayed on its own on a sideboard, shelf or console. Alternatively, use it to display dried flowers or foliage. It would also sit beautifully alongside other vintage Italian ceramics and mid-century decorative pieces.
