This striking 1979 Faro Islands bronze medal was designed by celebrated Greenlandic artist Jens Rosing and issued by Anders Nyborg as part of the Nordic Art Medal series.
The medal showcases Rosing’s distinctive approach to Nordic and Arctic subject matter. Its finely detailed relief depicts a Faroese seabird, while the traditional Faroese inscription “FØROYAR” identifies its connection with the Faroe Islands.
